Position Description
Join the Capital District Psychiatric Center Nursing Team
Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) had immediate night shift opportunities for Register Nurses (RNs), previous psychiatric experience is not required. Overnight and evening shifts are available with a rotating weekend schedule.
Nurses at CDPC are vital members of a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing companionate care through patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with mental illness including:
- Coordinating and providing nursing care
- Conducts nursing assessments
- Preparing, implementing, and modifying nursing care plans
- Providing health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals and families
- Implementing infection control protocols and procedures
- Observing and recording individual symptoms and care; reporting responses to medications or changes in health
CDPC, a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, provides inpatient and outpatient treatment to adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness, outpatient treatment services for children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, and operates adult community residences in the Albany/Capital District area. CDPC is committed to supporting underserved individuals, organizations, and communities along with activities and initiatives to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment for underserved populations.

Minimum Qualifications:
NYS License and current registration to practice as a professional nurse.
