Advancing the Science: The Latest in Alzheimer's and Dementia Research

Additional Information

Today, more than 426,000 people in New York State are living with Alzheimer's - an escalating health crisis that affects many in our community. At the same time, significant progress in Alzheimer's research has led to advancements in diagnosing, treating and preventing dementia. Join us to learn more about the latest in Alzheimer's research, resources offered through the statewide Alzheimer's Association chapters, and how you can join the fight as we work toward a world without Alzheimer's and all dementia. 

 Outcomes:

Participants will be able to identify basic NYS and national statistics around Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Participants will be able to name modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors associated with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Participants will be able to define biomarkers, why they are needed, and some of the ways biomarkers are used in dementia research. 

Participants will be able to identify advances in clinical trials, treatments and/or lifestyle interventions. 

 

The agenda for the evening is as follows:

5:30 PM – 6:15 PM Networking & Dinner

6:15 PM – 6:30 PM General Membership Meeting & Updates

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM Program

7:30 PM – 7:45 PM Wrap Up

 

This Nursing continuing professional development activity is provided in coordination with Quality Training Solution Corp who is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Maryland Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

This learning activity will be awarded a maximum of 1.25 Continuing Nursing Education contact hours.
